The Triple Moon Symbol is a popular pagan and Wiccan symbol used to represent the Goddess. It shows different portions of the lunar cycle, with the moon in three phases – waxing, full and waning.

The waxing moon stands for the Maiden and symbolizes purity, youth, new life, beginnings, rejuvenation, excitement, enchantment, and expansion. The full moon represents the Mother and represents fulfillment, fertility, ripeness, potency, compassion, giving, caring, nurturing, protection and power. The waxing moon represents the Crone and stands for repose, maturity, wisdom, experience, knowledge, understanding, completion, death and rebirth. In its entirety, the symbol is believed to signify the eternal cycle of birth, life, and rebirth.

The Lunar Goddess sits on her throne, which is graced with the phases of the moon. She is crowned with the horned crescent. In her lap she cradles a scrying bowl representing receptivity, intuition and the magical womb of transformation. On her right side a rabbit looks on, her emblem of life, fertility, and beginnings. On her left the crow cries out as her messenger, symbolic of the waning years of life and the ultimate passing from this life into the next. The back of her throne depicts the Goddess in her three aspects as Maid, Mother, and Crone.

The pentacle is a symbol of protection. Most religion on Earth attributes special powers to number 5, which represents the human body, 5 senses, 5 elements, 5 pillars, etc. There are also 5 virtues, Love, Wisdom, Truth, Kindness, Justice. It is in the efforts that we make to manifest these 5 virtues that the Divine protection usually attributed to the pentacle becomes effective.

Athames or ritual knives are a witch’s personal, magical knife used for casting the circle, invocations, evocations, calling the watchtowers, spell-work, ceremonies, initiation, and various rituals and rites. Tradition states to use the knife as much as possible to increase its power. The athame is associated with the element of fire. Being hand made, weight and size may vary.
