Selenite is named after the Greek word for moon, contrary to popular belief, it contains no significant selenium. Selenite is a form of fibrous and crystallized gypsum, of which there are three other varieties; satin spar, desert rose and gypsum flower. These four varieties are sometimes grouped together under the name selenite. The red variety is the result of mineral inclusions of copper ore.

As a healing stone, this mineral is commonly used to charge or cleanse crystals. It is said to help regenerate the cellular structure and has been used to correct skeletal disorders and to promote flexibility. Selenite also provides clarity of mind, expanding awareness.

RED TIGER EYE is a gemstone closely related to the well known gold tiger eye. In the gold variety, crocidolite is replaced by quartz while its fibrous structure is preserved. The shimmering eye-like nature, called chatoyancy, is caused by these newly created fibres. In this red variety, the colour has been created through a gentle heat treatment.

As a healing stone, in addition to the usual properties of gold tiger eye, red is thought to provide motivation and stimulation.

Pink rhodonite contrasts with black maganese oxide in this tumbled gemstone. As a healing stone, it helps express confidence and a loving nature. Sodalite is a royal blue stone with white veining. It is a hard, yet fragile stone that is named after its sodium content. It is somewhat similar to lapis though it rarely contains pyrite and its veining sets it apart.
